We recognise the importance of social media when an issue breaks, but were concerned that we lacked a clear, consistent and robust structure for its use under pressure. We appointed Insignia to run a social media crisis communications scenario with us after I'd attended one of their events and been incredibly impressed. The day didn't disappoint. Communications and digital teams from our international offices took part in a workshop which was invaluable in rehearsing our decision making and clarifying how we would respond. We are now addressing the issues and actions revealed by the workshop to give us greater confidence that we have the skills, tools and resources to protect our reputation should the worst ever happen.
