Why communication is essential for business recovery from a crisis

It’s natural to assume that the secret to successful crisis management (and reputation protection) is fixing the underlying problem. But that’s only half the solution. 

Throughout my career, I’ve seen examples of organisations which have succeeded in fixing the problem, but still ended up with a diminished reputation once the crisis was over.

The video below explains how this can happen and why you must communicate at the same time as you are fixing the problem, or suffer the consequences.

Mounting a successful operational response to a crisis is a pre-requisite for crisis management success; but without effective communication, full business recovery will not occur.
